Kavalan has been pioneering the art of Taiwanese single malt since 2005. Aged in intense humidity and purified by the meltwaters of Snow Mountain in Yilan, Taiwan. To commemorate the 45th anniversary of its parent company, King Car Group, Kavalan released the Kavalan Rare 45th Anniversary Ltd Ed Palo Cortado aged in a rare Palo Cortado cask. Palo Cortado sherry, accounting for less than 1% of global sherry production, combines the elegance of Amontillado with the richness of Oloroso. This whisky embodies this rarity and mystery showcasing a deep caramel mahogany colour and intricate aromas of cocoa powder, citrus, dried fruits, pastries, and toffee. On the palate, nutty flavours blend with hints of vanilla fruitcake and fragrant cardamom, leading to an elegant finish reminiscent of orange pound cake layered with rich dried fruits, raisins, vanilla, toasted biscuits, caramel toffee, and crushed walnuts.
