De Wet Leyland Steen 2020
De Wet Cellar is the oldest cellar in the Worcester area. The variety of terroirs in the De Wet-Overhex-Nuy-area where De Wet Cellar’s grapes are grown, secures the style of wine De Wet Cellar has become known for. The De Wet Leyland Steen 2020 gets its name from the well-known Leyland truck on the farm Welgeluksalig. This truck is more than 50 years old and still delivers these special grapes to the cellar. The wine was aged in selected oak to accentuate the typical flavours this vineyard has to offer. This Chenin Blanc single vineyard white wine has an ageing potential of 5 years.
Green-tinged pale straw. Grapefruit pith and black currant leaf aromas, faint pear-drop hints. Subtle and quite elusive, fuller and more intense on the palate with some viscosity adding texture to the mouthfeel finishing on baked apple notes.
