COGH Riebeeksrivier Caroline 2019
2019
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Anthonij Rupert Wyne was founded on L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. Originally owned by the late Anthonij Rupert, the farm was taken over by Johann Rupert in 2003. In 2007, Johann purchased Riebeeksrivier in Swartland with the goal to produce top Rhône-style varietals. The vineyards selected for the Cape of Good Hope range represent some of the oldest in the country, intended to produce only the finest reflection of their terroir. The COGH Riebeeksrivier Caroline 2019 has a fragrance of crunchy dried autumn leaves, vanilla biscuit and roasted stone fruit. Those nectarine, peach and apricot notes translate to the palate - rich, ripe and fleshy although it remains an elegant, dry and refined mouthful. Acidity counterbalances that ripeness and warmth and there’s a pleasant chalky grip too. Complex, structured with a delightful mouthfeel and texture. The beautiful integration of oak makes for a long, layered but sophisticated white wine.
