Pinot Noir

This tricky grape (to grow, not to drink!) loves cooler climates and has shown a real fondness for the Elgin and Hemel en Aarde Valleys. Traditionally associated with Burgundy, Pinot Noir is a lighter (in colour and style) red wine, with less tannins and a softer mouth feel. For flavour, think strawberries, cherries, liquorice, mushrooms and earthiness.
