Petit Verdot

Another of the Bordeaux varietals, Petit Verdot is mostly used in blends, adding tannins, colour and flavour. In the New World, however, winemakers have seen the value in a single varietal Petit Verdot, and have been producing this wine with success. The colour is a brilliant red, and the floral flavours hint of lilacs, violets and sage, alongside the stronger taste of plums and black cherries.
