Japanese Sake

With the growth of Japanese cuisine worldwide, Sake has suddenly become recognisable – and very trendy! The drink is made from fermented rice and is a clear or slightly yellowish liquid with an alcohol measure of about 15%. Similar to wine, sake comes in a range of flavours that vary in complexity – on the most basic level, sake can be described as sweet (ama-kuchi) or dry (kara-kuchi). Sake can be served chilled as is personal preference, and is a great accompaniment to all food – but especially Japanese flavours.
