Islay Whisky
Islay Whisky
Known for its big, bold, heavily peated single malts – most notably from cult favourite distilleries such as Ardbeg, Laphroaig and Lagavulin – Islay whisky is distinctive and world renowned. The island, situated in the Inner Hebrides off Scotland’s west coast, has eight active distilleries and is a real centre of whisky tourism. It’s also not all just about heavy peat here – producers such as Bunnahabhain and Bowmore are creating well-balanced, lighter-peat styles of whisky.
