French Whisky

The French love to drink whisky and they are biggest consumers of the amber beverage in the world – much of their consumption is of Scotch, however. That said, France has around 40 distilleries currently operating (or opening shortly) and many are creating a niche with something different, something distinctly French. Warenghem distillery produced the first French whisky in 1987; today it produces a range called Armorik in Brittany, a region known as the Celtic ‘cousin’ of Scotland and Ireland.
